Women’s Coats and Jackets at Macy’s

by admin on December 26, 2009

I was searching around at Macy’s and there were so many great women’s coats and jackets, I wanted to just discuss some and why I think readers might like them. I know Christmas is over now, but we’re still in the beginning of the winter months – especially for women up north. Oh and get this, because Christmas has passed some stores are treating it like we’re suddenly out of winter season and marking down prices to clearance because coats are “out of season”. All I’ve got to say is I love how retail works. Anyways, With so much cold and style and price being at a premium, here is my coats and jackets for women extravaganza post.

We start with the London Fog Faux Silk Trench Coat for $99.88. The London Fog is double breasted and has plain inside lining. Comes in classic tan and dark black. I’m not a huge fan of the colors although I’m not quite sure what I would use. This women’s trench coat got high marks for combining the trendy, yet classy look. A little bit loose and oversized, but still cute. Nothing wrong with the London Fog trench coat, but if you live in a very cold climate, you’re going to need more protection against the cold.

Although it’s a $100 more, I highly recommend the DKNY Long Wool women’s coat. We’re talking 5 stars here. Whether you wanted to call it traditional, sophisticated, or simply classic they’d all be right but I think classic is selling this long coat short. Strong in dark charcoal or black with an A skirt line, this DKNY coat will never go out of style. Even though it’s wool, it’s still light. Fits in your true size so no need to go up or down in size. Loved it.

For my girls far up north, take a look at the North Face Women’s Parka. This Parka colors are ink blue or vintage white. Most women have this coat hit around their knee. NorthFace is known for their incredible warmth, but could you guess this coat is also light as a feather? It is and it works for sub zero temperatures. Oh and one added benefit is the sleeves don’t go right against your arms. The only problem is the price. At $279 it’s a little high on the surface, but it’s worth every penny.

I really liked both the North Face and DKNY coats. I’ve still got a little more research to do though because I want to see if I can find a great women’s coat at a better price. Read more on womens winter coats.
